Community Rules
These rules govern all WesterosCraft spaces including our Minecraft server, Discord, forums, and other platforms. Please read them carefully before participating.

Core Principles
The Golden Rule
Don't be an asshole. Treat others with respect and courtesy. This covers most situations - be the kind of community member you'd want to interact with.
WesterosCraft is a collaborative creative project. All actions should contribute positively to our shared goals and community atmosphere.
Rules
- Respectful discourse
- No discriminatory language or behavior (racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.)
- No excessive profanity or adult content in public channels
- Avoid topics likely to cause heated political arguments
- Appropriate content
- Book and show spoilers are permitted in general discussion
- Be considerate when discussing new content
- No graphic or explicit content in public channels
- Quality communication
- No spamming, excessive caps, or disruptive behavior
- Keep discussions relevant to their designated channels
- No advertising other servers or unrelated projects
- Constructive feedback
- Focus on specific improvements rather than general criticism
- Acknowledge the effort others have put into their work
- Accept feedback graciously when it's given to you
Moderation Responses
Our moderation team may take any of the following actions depending on the situation:
- Verbal warning - For minor first-time issues
- Formal warning - Documented in our moderation system
- Temporary mute - Restriction from chat for limited time
- Kick - Removal from the server
- Temporary ban - Time-limited removal (24 hours to several months)
- Demotion - Limiting permissions or demoting builder status
- Permanent ban - Complete removal from community spaces
Moderation decisions consider context, history, severity, and impact on the community. We focus on the spirit rather than the letter of these rules.
Appeals Process
If you believe a moderation action was incorrect or disproportionate:
- Wait at least 24 hours before appealing
- Contact the moderation team through our [[appeals form]]
- Clearly explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered
- Be respectful and constructive in your appeal
Changes to Rules
These rules may be updated as our community evolves. Major changes will be announced in Discord and on the server. Members are responsible for staying informed about current guidelines.
